The charming town La Hulpe is located in the heart of a beautiful forest which offers a wide range of hiking possibilities for nature lovers. You will be able to relax and enjoy the fresh air, and still be close to the city centre of Brussels and other interesting cities. The 19th century Castle of La Hulpe, classified as an “Exceptional Heritage Site in Wallonia” and the old church in the centre of the town make for interesting historic visits.
The famous city of Waterloo is just 5 km (3miles) away from Dolce La Hulpe Brussels
The proximity to Brussels lends itself for a number of cultural visits. A tour through the Old City, from the very spot where Brussels actually started, is a good starting point. On the Grand-Place, many historic buildings can be seen around the beautiful city hall and the King of Belgium’s house, as well as the comical and quite famous Manneken Pis.
A more modern aspect of the city is represented by the famous Atomium, one of the few remains of World Expo which took place in Brussels in 1958: it is possible to take an elevator up to the top to get a beautiful view of the city and its surroundings, or to visit the “Mini-Europe” site nearby, with miniature reproductions of 350 monuments.
Brussels also offers such diverse experiences as walking through the Brussels Gardens after viewing the Royal Palace, visiting the Art Nouveau neighbourhood and touring its many museums. In order to truly enjoy the richness of the city, a gastronomic visit to the institution of "Chez Leon" with the best mussels anywhere, or a beer safari through the bars of City Brussels, are highly recommended.
La Hulpe is located close to several historically rich cities. Bruges, the canal-city, is one of Europe’s best preserved medieval towns. Ghent, which is located between Brussels and Bruges, offers a rich medieval history and architecture. For more sport-oriented activities, the Spa Francorchamps racetrack is a great circuit for those fancying a track-driving experience.
